You can't even build up around the narrow entrance to your base with defenses.īut that doesn't matter. ![]() As a result, entire sides of your base are left open because you have to cram buildings around your home depot so you have room to build them all but that leaves no room for any defenses. If there's no control point for you to capture, it won't let you build there. So unlike in Stacraft where you can control a choke point with a lot of well-placed gun defenses, in DoW you can't. But you can only build in a small radius around these control points. These are around your home depot thing (which you can build anywhere, if you don't mind waiting 5 minutes for it to build) or control points which you capture. ![]() You can only build within one of these areas. It's still early days yet and I really want to play the campaign and some of the other races a bit more but so far, it sucks.įirst off, there are zones of control. I installed it a few days ago and have been playing Skirmishes against the PC. Okay, so after playing the demo and really getting into the few games I played, I thought Dawn of War would be a pretty fun RTS that's be a nice replacement to Starcraft. ![]()
